Proof of Never-Happened

Proof of Never-Happened creates false artefacts for things that never happened: false evidence, so to speak. The work is part of my PhD research project at Hasselt University and PXL-MAD School of Arts, Hasselt (BE), which is funded by the Special Research Fund (BOF) of Hasselt University (BOF21DOC04).

The object is inspired by a story about a false childhood memory of a day in the zoo. It shows a souvenir of a day that never happened and is made of two types of glass that are not compatible with each other. After an indefinite period, it should thus self-destruct due to the internal tension. A vague hope also exists that the same will happen to the false memory.
