"Windows to the Past" deals with traces of lost objects. The work is part of my PhD research project at Hasselt University and the PXL-MAD School of Arts, Hasselt (BE), which is funded by the Special Research Fund (BOF) of Hasselt University (BOF21DOC04).
Windows to the Past was created during an artist residency at S12 in Bergen, Norway. The work was inspired by historical portraits of young women that I found in a local antique shop.
The idea was that through the photo I had a trace that allowed me participate in their history and at the same time reawaken it.
