"Windows to the Past" deals with traces of lost objects. The work is part of my PhD research project at Hasselt University and the PXL-MAD School of Arts in Hasselt, Belgium, funded by the Special Research Fund (BOF) of Hasselt University (BOF21DOC04).
Windows to the Past was created during an artist residency at S12 in Bergen, Norway. The work was inspired by historical portraits of young women that I found in a local antique shop. Both the women and their jewellery were unknown to me, but through the photo I have a trace that lets me participate in their history and at the same time reawaken them.
